Individual Psychotherapy for Adolescents

Individual Psychotherapy for Adolescents

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), adolescence is the stage of life between childhood and adulthood, typically ranging from ages 10 to 19. It is a unique and critical period of development, during which young people experience rapid physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes. These changes influence how they think, feel, make decisions, and relate to the world around them.

During this stage, adolescents may be more vulnerable to developing mental health difficulties, These challenges are frequently linked to self-esteem, identity development, and social experiences. Common concerns during adolescence include difficulties at school, challenges in peer relationships, family dynamics, self-image, and behavioural issues.

My therapeutic approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and modifying patterns of thinking and behaviour that may contribute to emotional distress. Through therapy, adolescents can develop effective coping strategies, strengthen their self-esteem, and learn healthier ways to manage their emotions.
